The Gellert Hill -
The Gellert Hill cliffs overlooks Danube. The panorama offered by the mount on Danube is a fascinating spectacle. This mountain is also called the Jewel of Budapest. The nature reserve that surrounds it is a part of World Heritage since 1987.
The statue of liberty pays homage to the liberation of the country from the domination of the nazis. The statue was established in 1947 that represents a woman brandishing a palm leaf. The statue is 14 meters high but with the pedestal, it reaches 40 meters.
Buda Castle -
It is one of the most famous and most visited tourist sites. It is also a part of the world heritage of UNESCO with many monuments, museums, streets, picturesque squares, restaurants and stores. It is also called Royal Palace. It was the place of many battles and wars in the 13th century.
Inside this castle, there are 3 museums and the Széchényi Library. Nearby, there is Palazzo Alexander which is perfectly renovated and neighbour to the President of the Republic.
The Parliament -
It is the tallest building in the country and is the seat of National Assembly of Hungary. It is situated on Danube riverbank and the entrance is on the side of Kossuth square.
The Parliament was built in a neo-Gothic style between 1884 and 1904 according to Imre Steindl project. There are 691 pieces spanning 268 meters. The height of the dome is 96 meters. Since year 2000, the visitors can see the emblems, the Crown of Saint Etienne, the sceptre, the Globular and the sword of renaissance.
Andrassy Avenue -
It is surrounded by the work of an ordered structure of 19th century. It was recognized as a World Heritage Site in 2002. We can see eclectic architecture with the outstanding building of Opera and the buildings with beautiful spaces, statues and fountains.
The real peculiarity of Andrassy avenue is just on the surface. Only wrought iron railings indicate that the first subway of Europe avenue carries travelers for more than 150 years.
The Szechenyi Thermal Bath -
It is the largest thermal complex of Budapest and all Europe. Its construction was begun in 1909 according to the plans of Gyozo Cziegler. This bath is located in the City Park (Stadtpark). Thermal water supply come from the source “Szent István” delivered in 1938 and the cold water from 6 small wells.
The complex which was renovated few years ago has 3 indoor pools and 15m long. This bath have different therapies treatments and also a day hospital. Among the basic services, the bath offers wellness, fitness and spa services to visitors.
